YOUR WEBSITE, LOOKED AFTER BY JAMES
I’ll copy your website exactly, for free, using modern, lightweight code. You keep paying what you already pay for hosting — just to me, here on Lord Howe Island.
THE WEBSITE OFFER
Your design, your words, your photos, your pages. I copy the website you already have, exactly as it is. You get to check it before we switch anything over.
Email me the link and what you currently pay for hosting. That’s the hosting fee I’ll match.
I rebuild your site exactly as it is in modern code. You check it, then I handle the switch.
Every edit is $50 and done within one day. You talk directly to the person making the change.
OUR CLIENTS
Good company to be in.
SAME SPEND. A LOCAL BUSINESS.
There’s no need to spend more to support a local business. I charge what you already pay for website hosting. The difference is who you’re paying, and who you talk to when you need something done.
Instead of a website platform and a corporate support queue, you have me. I build your site, host it and make your updates. More of that spending supports a business right here on Lord Howe.
Same website budget. More of it staying local.
Cloud hosting and infrastructure still cost money. Local ownership keeps a greater share of the revenue in our community; it doesn’t mean every dollar stays on the island.
LESS ADMIN. MORE OF YOUR DAY BACK.
Copying booking details. Chasing forms. Sending the same emails. If it’s a job you keep doing by hand, there may be a simpler way. I build tools that get those jobs done for you.
THE BUSINESS WALKTHROUGH
60 minutesWITH JAMESSit down with me and walk me through your business, from the first customer enquiry to the last follow-up. We’ll find the repeat jobs, the things that get missed and the places where you’re doing work a computer could handle.
We’ll identify what’s worth changing and what to tackle first. If you’d like me to build something, we’ll agree the work and price before I begin.
A booking comes in. The right forms go out, the extras get arranged and your customer knows what happens next.
Send useful reminders before a visit, a thank-you afterwards or an invitation to come back.
Bring your mailing list together and make it easier to reach customers who have opted in.
A tailored booking system or a connection between the tools you already use, built around your business.
IN PRACTICE / MOUNT GOWER GUIDES
For Chris at Mount Gower Guides, I automated the full journey from hike booking to waiver signing and transfer booking. Handling those steps manually would take hours every week. The system saves him an estimated 10–20 hours per week compared with doing that work by hand.

ALSO IN DEVELOPMENT
I’m building accommodation software with the same approach: modern tools, straightforward pricing and direct access to me. The aim is to bring bookings, availability, payments and guest messages into one place.
INTERFACE CONCEPT · NOT A LIVE PRODUCT
Your property
Illustrative layout · sample availability only
Run island accommodation? Tell me what your current software gets right, what gets in the way and what you’d like to change.
Website booking widgets, room configuration and real-time availability.
Booking dashboard, guest records and multi-room or multi-property support where appropriate.
Payment integration, deposits, balances and cancellation or refund workflows.
Confirmation emails, automated guest communications and booking insights.
Future third-party calendar and channel integrations, where technically supported.
A responsive management interface for your laptop, tablet and phone.
FURTHER DOWN THE TRACK
I’m also planning a shared accommodation directory, so travellers can find participating island properties and potentially book direct. Another way for local operators to be found.
This is a future part of the booking project. The directory isn’t live, and its name and domain aren’t confirmed.

Just email James.
HI, I’M JAMES.
I’m James Lonergan, a sixth-generation Lord Howe Islander and the owner of Jim’s Café. I know what it’s like to run a business here, and how little time there is to chase a support ticket.
With Lord Howe IT, you deal with me from the first email onwards. I copy and look after websites, build tools that cut down the admin, and help businesses get more out of modern technology.
Your email comes straight to me. I’m the person doing the work.
A clear price and a clear turnaround for your website edits.
Fast, lightweight code and modern hosting. Nothing new for you to learn.
THE DETAILS
Yes. I copy your existing website exactly: the design, pages, words, photos and navigation. You review the copy before we move it over. I’ll check your booking links and any third-party features with you as part of the move.
Yes. I build the copy of your existing website for free when you move your hosting to me. There’s no one-off setup or rebuild charge.
What you already pay. Send me your current hosting bill and I’ll match that fee. You pay me instead of your current website provider.
Email me what you want changed. It’s $50 per edit, and I’ll complete it within one day. You deal with me directly, with no customer-service queue.
I rebuild it in lightweight, modern code instead of running it on top of a website-builder platform. Removing that extra platform overhead gives the site less to load. Image sizes, outside integrations and your visitor’s connection still affect loading time.
Yes. You keep your domain, and I’ll check your current booking links or integrations with you before the switch. You don’t need to use my upcoming booking software to have your website hosted with me.
We spend one hour going through how your business runs. I’ll help identify repetitive tasks that could be handled for you, and a useful place to start. Any custom build is a separate next step, with the work and price agreed before I begin.
It’s still in development. The capabilities shown here are planned, and early accommodation operators are welcome to help shape them. Intended pricing is $100 AUD per month plus 1% of eligible bookings processed through the platform, subject to final commercial confirmation. Third-party payment-processing fees are separate.
STRAIGHT TO JAMES
Send your website link and current hosting fee, or tell me which part of your working day you’d like to make easier. I’ll get back to you personally.
